Christmas Party at Silver Jare

Our music team played at the Christmas Party at Silver Jare in Bethel. Here are two pictures from the party:

Here are some fitting verses that go with:

Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

Hebrews 12: 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”

We also captured Amazing Grace in a .video (click on the word video or click below):

Shoebox Stuff – DEADLINE 27 November

Here is the low down of what we are looking for for the Christmas shoe box collection we do for FAMSA

shoebox

Also here are the list of the children we are reaching out too.  You can do three things with these names:

  1. Pray for each of them by name.
  2. Knowing their age, may also help with what shoe size to get.
  3. Like the lists (genealogies) that are no omitted in the scriptures – because each person matters.  These people matter too:

“But now, this is what the LORD says– he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” (Isaiah 43: 1)

Friday Youth

We had a little youth gathering on Friday.  We met in the church hall and God did some amazing things:

I wanted to emphasis the message of being connected with God. And not just having a “Friday Youth Group” faith…
We looked at John 15 – the vine and the branches. There is something so profound with that passage. The gospel could be summed up in there.

“Remain in My love” Jesus implores. “Remain in me and I will remain in you.” (There can be no other better connection / relationship.)

We did some fun challenges. We even stuck with the futuristic times (making robots) as one of the challenges.

The challenged ended with a picture capturing the message of John 15. See above pic.

There were two moving times for me on Friday night. I had planned some “forced” quiet time at the end of the evening. They had a scripture passage and some questions to sit with. There was 20 minutes. And as the youth went to sit on their own… an incredible silence fell over the office. They all were focused. Connecting. (It was stunning!)

Prior to that I also enjoyed it when they all sang along to Good Good Father by Chris Tomlin.
(I didn’t expect that. I played it from my laptop and they just sung in worship. Was brilliant!)

Check out the song here:

Church – “Picnic Style”

This past Sunday night St Peters met at the Duck Pond for the once a month family focused ‘messy church’ – evening service.  We met at 5pm and all who attended had a great time expressing and connecting with God in a different sort of way…

Here are some picture memories:

The Praise Posters we made.

(Each family / group had to gather things of creation that would be an “expression” of worship to God.)img-20161017-wa0009img-20161017-wa0010img-20161017-wa0011

Answering some questions:  “What are the sounds that you currently hear around you?” & “What are the colours you can see?”

(We are appreciative of the things we can hear and see.)
